If you are wondering how to listen to the Olympics, iHeartRadio has you covered. iHeartRadio is the exclusive audio home of NBC's coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics, so it is the only place to listen to the Olympics stream. The free iHeart app is where to go to listen to exclusive play-by-play action of Team USA. To celebrate, we are spotlighting some of the country's athletes that are vying for gold.

Gavin Bottger, a 17-year-old skateboarder from Oceanside, California, is making waves in the world of skateboarding. With over a decade of experience under his belt, Bottger has quickly climbed the ranks in the World Skateboarding Rankings. At just 16, he became the third U.S. skateboarder to earn the men’s park world title with his first-place finish at the WST Park 2023 World Championships in Rome. He followed this win with a second-place finish at the World Skateboarding Tour Dubai.

Bottger's journey to the top has been organic, driven by his love for the sport rather than a calculated plan to reach the Olympics. He was named to the 16-man USA Skateboarding national team in December 2022, after winning the 2022 Dew Tour ahead of Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Keegan Palmer. His success continued with his win at the WST Park 2023 World Championships in Rome, where he was joined on the podium by good friends Luigi Cini and Tate Carew.

Despite his competitive success, Bottger maintains a casual approach to skateboarding. He doesn't view his time at the park as training, but rather as an opportunity to have fun. He skates without a coach, focusing on enjoying the sport rather than the pressure of competition. His love for street skating, which he views as a crucial part of his skateboarding identity, influences his park runs, allowing him to find creative lines in the park.

As he prepares for competitions, Bottger doesn't plan his lines in advance, preferring to adapt to the park's layout once he arrives. His focus is on skating his best and figuring out the park as quickly as possible.
